Petal & Sky

This project explores a more personal and visually engaging approach to checking the weather. Inspired by the connection between weather, gardening, and nature, I designed a mobile weather app where each weather condition is represented by a different flower, creating a floral system that connects the forecast to the natural world.

For the visual direction, I combined traditional watercolor painting with digital interface design. I hand-painted each flower, scanned the artwork, and incorporated the original watercolor textures throughout the app. I pulled colors directly from the flowers to create a cohesive palette and developed simple weather icons using elements of the watercolor illustrations. I kept the typography and interface relatively minimal so the illustrations could remain the main focus while keeping the information clear and easy to navigate.

The goal was to create a weather experience that feels friendly, calming, and aesthetically inviting while still functioning as a practical daily forecast.
